A trust-first marketplace, already built
Flipns is pre-launch, so there are no traction numbers on this page and we are not going to invent any. What there is instead is a product: a local marketplace for individuals, shops and businesses to buy, sell and explore new and used products, with a trust stack that is shipped and running.

Where we are
Flipns is pre-launch. We publish no user counts, no listing volumes and no revenue, because there are none worth publishing yet and a padded number is worse than a blank space.
What is real is the product. The trust stack a local marketplace needs for individuals, shops and businesses — the part that usually takes a funded team years to build — is running.
What is shipped
Not a roadmap. Each of these is running code you can exercise in the product today.
- AI listing assist — photos or a pasted product link in, a complete draft out: title, description, category, condition and a suggested price
- Chat and structured offers — real-time buyer↔seller threads where an offer is an object that can be accepted, declined or countered, and the agreed price is on the record
- Identity verification — sellers submit a government ID and a moderator reviews it by hand; the badge is never automatic and never for sale
- Two-sided ratings — buyers and sellers rate each other after a completed deal, aggregated per seller, buyer and product
- Report and takedown — one-tap reporting, automatic escalation once a target crosses the report threshold, moderator takedown with a full audit trail
- Local discovery — map and near-me search over a geospatial index, with every public coordinate coarsened server-side so a listing never pins a home
- Seller catalogues — a public page at each seller handle that collects their published new and used products, ratings and verification
- Machine-readable distribution — structured data on every page, split sitemaps, an llms.txt, a public read-only REST API and a remote MCP server
- Native clients — iOS and Android apps on the same backend, sharing the same URLs through Universal Links and App Links
The model: credits, not commission
Listing is free and Flipns takes no percentage of any sale. Sellers buy credits — one credit is one rupee — and spend them on visibility and a few metered services for a specific listing: 10 credits to feature it for a day, 50 for a week, 8 to bump it back to the top, 100 to publish a contact number on it, 0.25 to forward a buyer's message to WhatsApp or SMS.
The consequence is that revenue tracks seller intent rather than taxing the transaction. A commission marketplace has to police off-platform settlement, because every deal completed outside it is revenue lost; Flipns does not, because it never depended on the deal. That removes the structural incentive to hold the two parties apart — which is the same incentive that makes most classifieds products worse for the people using them.
It also means the unit that has to work is a promoted listing, not a cohort. That is a smaller thing to prove, and it can be proven with the first hundred sellers rather than the first hundred thousand.
The market, stated plainly
India, local commerce and classifieds for new and used goods. The incumbents are large, well-known and long-established, and this page is not going to pretend they are vulnerable. What is different now is that the expensive part of a listing — writing it — can be done by a model for a fraction of a rupee, and that answer engines are becoming a distribution channel for inventory that is published in a machine-readable form.
Flipns is built for both of those facts rather than retrofitted to them. Whether that is enough is exactly the question worth asking, and we would rather have that conversation than a deck about it.

Frequently asked questions
- Has Flipns launched?
- Not yet. The product is built and running, and it is pre-launch — which is why this site publishes no user, listing or revenue numbers. When there are figures worth reporting they will be published here with a date on them.
- How does Flipns make money?
- Sellers buy credits — one credit is one rupee — and spend them on optional visibility for a specific listing: 10 credits to feature it for a day, 8 to bump it to the top, plus metered services like message forwarding. Listing is free and Flipns takes no commission on sales.
- Why no commission on transactions?
- Because Flipns never touches the transaction. Buyers and sellers settle directly, so a commission would have to be enforced against off-platform settlement — the policing problem that makes most classifieds products worse for the people using them. Charging for visibility instead aligns revenue with what a seller actually wants.
