How do you post a free ad in India?
Choose a site or app that lets you list for free in your city, then post one ad per item with clear photos of the actual thing, a specific title, an honest description and a price. On Flipns, listing is free for every item and there is no commission: add photos, review the listing the assistant drafts, and buyers near you message you in chat. Keep the ad current, reply quickly, and meet in a public place to hand over.

Where to post a free ad
Pick a place where buyers in your city already look. A local marketplace shows your ad to people searching near you, so nothing has to be shipped; housing-society groups, neighbourhood threads and notice boards reach the people closest to you. Shops, resellers and anyone with something to sell can use the same routes.
Before you post, check that the site carries your category and search it for items like yours in your area. Recent listings and their asking prices tell you more about whether buyers are there than any claim about audience size. Posting the same item in more than one place is normal, as long as you take it down everywhere once it goes.
Write an ad that answers a buyer’s first questions
Most replies to a vague ad are questions the ad should have answered. Put what a buyer searches for in the title, and the details they would ask about in the description.
- Title: what it is, then the brand, model or size, for example “Study table, engineered wood, 120 × 60 cm”.
- Photos: the actual item in daylight, from the front, back and sides, with any marks or faults shown close up.
- Description: condition, age, what is included, known faults, and whether you have several units.
- Price: a specific figure in ₹, checked against similar local ads, and say whether it is negotiable.
- Location: your area or locality is enough; never put your home address or flat number in the ad.
Post a free ad on Flipns
Create an account, then start a listing from photos of the item or from a link to its product page. The assistant drafts the title, description, category, condition and a suggested price; correct anything it got wrong before you publish, because it cannot see faults or confirm your stock.
Listing is free for every item and Flipns takes no commission on sales. Your ad appears to buyers browsing and searching near you, and on your public seller page at flipns.com/u/<handle>, which you can share as one link. Listing locations are approximate by default, so buyers see the area rather than your exact address.
Buyers message you in the app, and can send an offer that you accept, decline or counter. Flipns does not take payment for the item or arrange delivery: you agree the price in chat and settle it when you meet.
After you post: replies, updates and a safe handover
Reply quickly, since a buyer who waits a day has often found something else. Keep the ad accurate: change the price if it is not drawing interest, reduce the quantity as units sell, and mark the item sold once it goes.
If you want more people to see an ad, Flipns has optional credits: 8 to bump a listing back to the top, 10 to feature it for a day or 50 for a week. Every new account gets 100 credits. None of this is needed to list or to sell.
Meet in a public place in daylight, let the buyer inspect the item, and count cash or confirm the payment in your own bank or UPI app before you hand anything over. Never share an OTP or scan a QR code to “receive” money.
