How Flipns works

Flipns connects local buyers and sellers. Sellers add photos, review an AI-assisted listing and publish for free. Buyers browse items, message sellers and agree a price. You arrange collection and payment directly with each other; Flipns does not process item payments or provide delivery.

How do you sell an item on Flipns?

From opening the app to money in hand, most items take about a minute of your attention to list and however long the right buyer takes to turn up.

  • Photograph it — Open the sell flow and add a few pictures in decent light. That is the only part nobody can do for you, and it is the part that decides whether the listing sells.
  • Let the assistant write it — Flipns reads the photos and drafts the title, the description, the category, a condition grade and a suggested asking price. Selling something with a product page online? Paste the link and it reads the specifications and images off that too.
  • Check it and publish — Change anything you disagree with — the price especially, since only you know what you will accept. Publishing is free. Once published and active, your listing has a public page and can appear in Flipns browsing and search. Search-engine indexing is separate and is not guaranteed.
  • Answer buyers and agree a price — Buyers message you in Flipns chat and can send structured offers you accept, decline or counter. Reply quickly; on a local marketplace the seller who answers first usually gets the deal.
  • Meet, hand it over, get paid — Agree somewhere public. Confirm the money has actually arrived in your own banking or UPI app before you hand the item over — a payment screenshot proves nothing. Then rate each other.

How do you buy an item on Flipns?

Buying needs no account at all until you want to message somebody. Browsing, searching, the map and every category and city page are open to anyone.

  • Find it — Search, browse the local feed, or open the map to see what is near you. Search understands what an item is as well as what it is called, so a description that never uses your exact words can still be the right answer.
  • Check who is selling it — Open the seller's profile before you message. It shows how long they have been on Flipns, their rating from completed deals, and whether a moderator has reviewed a government ID for them.
  • Message and make an offer — Ask your questions in Flipns chat and send a price if you want to negotiate. Keep it in the app — a logged conversation is what lets moderators act if anything goes wrong, which is exactly why a scammer's first move is to ask you to move.
  • Inspect it in person — Meet somewhere busy in daylight and check the item properly before any money moves. For electronics ask for the bill and the IMEI; for a vehicle check the papers.
  • Pay the seller directly — You pay the person, not the platform, once the item is in your hands. Never pay an advance, a booking amount or a delivery charge to somebody you have not met, and never share a one-time password.

Does Flipns handle payment or delivery?

Flipns is a classifieds marketplace: it introduces two people and gives them somewhere to agree terms. It does not process payment for items, hold money in escrow, or arrange shipping or delivery. The handover is between you.

That boundary is worth knowing precisely, because almost every marketplace scam in India works by convincing somebody that the platform is standing behind a transaction it has no part in. Nobody from Flipns will ever ask you for a one-time password, a UPI PIN or a card number.

If someone tells you Flipns is holding a payment, releasing funds, or guaranteeing a delivery, that is not how the product works and you are being set up.

What should you do after a deal?

Both sides rate each other, and both ratings are public. A seller builds a reputation that converts the next buyer; a buyer builds one that gets them taken seriously — someone who repeatedly fails to turn up has a history too.

If something went wrong, report it from the listing or the conversation. Reports escalate to moderators automatically once a target crosses a threshold, and takedowns leave an audit trail. You can also block someone outright without waiting for anyone to act.

Is buying and selling on Flipns free?

Nothing. Creating an account, browsing, searching, messaging, making offers, listing and selling are all free, and Flipns takes no commission when something sells.

Credits are optional and pay only for extras a seller may want: 10 credits to feature a listing for a day, 8 to bump it back to the top, 0.25 to forward a buyer's message to WhatsApp. Pack prices are shown at checkout. Eligible new accounts receive the welcome credits shown in the app.

Frequently asked questions

How does Flipns work?
You photograph an item and the AI assistant drafts the listing — title, description, category, condition and a suggested price. You publish it free, buyers message you in Flipns chat and can send structured offers, and you meet locally to complete the deal. Flipns does not handle payment or delivery.
Do I need an account to buy on Flipns?
Not to look. Browsing, searching, the map and every category and city page are open without signing in. You need a free account only to message a seller or to list something yourself.
How long does it take to list an item?
About a minute for most items. You add photos, the assistant drafts everything else, and you check it and publish. There is no seller application and no approval step before your listing goes live.
How do I pay for something I found on Flipns?
Directly to the seller, in person, once you have inspected the item. Flipns does not process item payments, hold escrow or arrange shipping. Never pay an advance to someone you have not met, and never share a one-time password.
What if a deal goes wrong?
Report the listing, the profile or the conversation from the app. Reports go to moderators and escalate automatically once a target is reported enough times independently, and you can block the person immediately without waiting for a decision.
